Happy Root Citizen Science Project

Students learn about root fungi, and build spatial reasoning by evaluating microscopic images. Participants are contributing to active research by helping discover new organisms and assess tropical forest health.

Project Activities, Goals

Our first citizen science project, in collaboration with Syracuse University and University of Tubingen.

For this project we designed resources for sharing photos, and procedures for collecting comments and feedback from a geographically separated community of participants. While this specific project is not active currently, we expect to repurpose these tools for lab courses in the future. Anyone interested in learning more should contact us.
